What is the difference between the free Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition? Both install from Legacy8Setup, as does the update file.
There is only one Legacy installation file (LegacySetup.exe). The
only difference between Standard and Deluxe is that the deluxe features have not been unlocked. A Deluxe user has paid for the program and is sent a customer number to unlock the them. Free Standard edition users don't buy, so they don't get a customer number. However, if at a future time they do purchase the Deluxe
Edition, they will be sent a customer number to unlock the Deluxe features in
the program they are using. There is no need to install
a new program. Please see How to unlock Legacy Deluxe.
The Deluxe has some extra features not accessible in the Standard, i.e., the new SourceWriter, Mapping, several more reports (all the basic reports are available in the Standard Edition). Standard Edition and see what you think. It's not a "trial" - many of
our users have never purchased the Deluxe Edition because the Standard
Edition meets their needs. There's no time out and no limitations to the
data that you can enter.

Again, it's the same file, just different wording. By the way the changes to LegacySetup.exe are cumulative and contain all of the updates and enhancements back to the initial release of Legacy Family Tree.
