The Legend below shows you what the icons and symbols used throughout Legacy FamilySearch mean and also what the highlighting colors mean in the main information.

Synchronization Icons

There are six icons that show the current status of synchronization between the information for a person in Legacy and the information for that person in FamilySearch.

The Legacy person has not been matched with anyone in FamilySearch.  You can click the icon to start the process of finding a matching person in FamilySearch to link to.

The Legacy person is matched to someone in FamilySearch but Legacy has information that FamilySearch doesn't have and FamilySearch has information Legacy doesn't have.  Click the icon to go to the Share Data screen.

The Legacy person has information that FamilySearch does not have.  If you want to share the information with FamilySearch, click the icon to go to the Share Data screen.

The matching person in FamilySearch has information that your Legacy person doesn't have.  Click the icon to go to the Share Data screen.

Your Legacy person and the matching person in FamilySearch are synchronized (or you have indicated that you don't want to share anymore information between the two).

The Legacy person has been provisionally matched to a person in FamilySearch using the Auto Match feature.

Duplicate Icons

This icon indicates that there are potential duplicates in FamilySearch which you have chosen to skip.

Temple Ordinance Icons.
The following four ordinance (temple) icons are for LDS users only.

Indicates that all available temple ordinances have been completed.  (It doesn't mean that ALL the ordinances have been completed, just that all the ordinances that can currently be done are completed.)

Indicates that there is at least one ordinance that can be reserved for this person.  Clicking the icon takes you to the Ordinance Status screen where you can make the reservation and print the Family Ordinance Request (FOR) form.

Indicates there is some ordinance work that has already been reserved (my you or someone else) that is in progress.  When the ordinances have been completed, Legacy will change the icon to completed.

Indicates that more information is needed in order to make one or more ordinances ready to qualify for being reserved.  This can be a missing date or location, or missing spouse or parent information.

Living Indicator Icon

Legacy living indicator is set to living. If you know this person is deceased open his or her Individual Information screen in Legacy Family Tree and set the Living status to No. Persons with this icon in cannot be submitted for temple ordinances.
