Backup & Restore - Carbonite or Mozy issues

A Legacy family file backup only backs up the data in the family file and attached pictures locally on your computer. These backup files have a .zip extension. Carbonite, com and Mozy.com backup systems will backup whole drives or designated folders up to the Internet. It's a whole different approach to backing up and they do it off-site.  Legacy cannot do a normal restore from a Carbonite or Mosy backup, but all is not lost.

When you download your Carbonite or Mozy backup from the Internet, it should contain your family file and pictures (provided that you included them). You will have to open your family file from whatever location on your hard drive it ends up after downloading your Carbonite or Mozy backup.

Please see the article "How do I find family files on my computer?" at http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00901
. It outlines the steps for locating files that may be in unexpected places on your hard drive.
