IntelliShare: Synchronize Your Family Files on Two or More Computers

Legacy’s IntelliShare feature makes it
easy for groups of two or more Legacy users to coordinate their work and
stay caught up on each other's changes.
Intellishare is also ideal for a
single user who wants to keep his/her family files in sync on two or
more computers that he/she owns. (Think of the other computers as other
users.)
During the merge process Legacy
will search for all records with matching IntelliShare values and then
automatically combine those that have exactly the same value. These are
the records where no changes have been made. At the end of the automatic
merge sweep, Legacy will display only the records where changes have
been made by one or more persons. Click Here for more information.
To start an IntelliShare Merge: 1. Import one file into another. See Split Screen View: How to Copy Between Two Family Files.
2. Use the file you just imported into.
3. Click on Tools > Merge Duplicates > Find Duplicates....
4. Do a backup if prompted. When the backup is complete, the Merge Options Screen will open.
5. Select the Special Duplicate Searches tab.
6. Select Use IntelliShare to AutoMerge (the last option at the bottom) and click Continue.
7. The IntelliShare Merge will start. If prompted to use IntelliPass or AutoMerge click Yes.
8. After Legacy has automatically merged all the records it can, you will then be shown the regular Merge Two Individuals screen and pairs of possible duplicates that did not qualify for auto-merging. It will now be up to you to finish merging the remaining duplicates manually. Please click the Help button for additional information.
