How to divide a family file using Split Screen View

To split the screen, click View > Split Screen.  A message box will then ask, Do you want to open a different Family File in the new window?  Click No. Next create a new, blank family file by clicking on File > New File. and follow the screen prompts. This new file is the one you will copy to.

Next drag and drop someone from the left screen to the right screen, which is blank, that it it has no records (click on them in the Husb or Wife position, hold down the left mouse button while dragging and let go of the mouse button when the cursor reaches the other screen).  A dialog box will then open with buttons to select for copying the just individual, the family, the individual and descendants, etc. Make your choice and start the copy process. After the transfer is done, merge any duplicate individuals.
