How to use Legacy FamilySearch to Share Information with the Family Tree at FamilySearch.org

Please download one of the "Legacy FamilySearch Overview" pdf files at the bottom of this article. There is a file for the general public (individuals who are not members of the LDS or Mormon Church) and a file specifically for members of the LDS (Mormon) Church. The functionality of Legacy FamilySearch is a little different depending on which group you fit into.

Legacy's most recent FamilySearch tools available in Legacy 8 will continue to be enhanced and made available through Legacy 8's free updates. These tools are available in both the free, standard edition of Legacy 8 and in the deluxe edition of Legacy 8. Legacy's FamilySearch tools in older versions of Legacy will not be updated.
