How to "Save File As" to move a file

Open the family in Legacy.

1. Click on File.
2. S
elect Save File As.

3. A message will appear: "This option is copying your current family file to a new file with a new name or for copying your family file to a new folder with the same name. (It is not a Save option for your current file. All information is saved as you exit each edit screen.)" Click Yes in message screen. Another screen will open.

4. Change the location to your flash drive (it will be listed under Computer). This is where the copy of your family file will be saved.
5. At the bottom enter a name for the family file. It can be the same name or you can give it a different name.
6. Click Save.

Once the family file is saved to the flash drive you can move it to a new computer.  Open the family file on the flash drive, and repeat steps 1 and 2. Next go to the navigation pane on the left side of the screen and click on Documents (under Libraries) and go to the Legacy Family Tree\Data sub-folder and then repeat steps 4 and 5.
