A red link shows on a person in Legacy FamilySearch. The reasons for this are:

• The individual in FamilySearch that you are linked to has duplicates and/or families that need to be merged.
This individual has been merged with a duplicate causing a change in the FamilySearch ID.
• This individual is linked to the wrong person in FamilySearch.
• The individual in FamilySearch is still living and you don't have permissions to view them.

1. First click the Refresh button on the right side above the FamilySearch person and then click the Reload button to reload your Legacy person. Sometimes Legacy FamilySearch is holding on to old data and this will clear it out and this may be all you have to do.

2. Click on the  red link.

3. When prompted Do you want to unlink this individual from FamilyTree? click the Yes button.

4. The Legacy person is now unlinked. No link or FamilySearch ID is displayed.

.

5. Click the  button on Legacy person side and the Select an action to perform screen will open. Make sure Link to [person's name] is highlighted at the top of the screen and then click Select Action in the lower right.

6. The Legacy person will now be linked. He/she will now be displayed with a blue link and the same FamilySearch ID as the Family Tree person on the right.
