If your check/repair takes more than 10 minutes or gives an error 3035 please do these steps:

1.  Open Legacy and go to file>file maintenance>check/repair.  Click Proceed on the first pop up but do not click proceed on the second.  Your screen should look like this:

2.  With this Check/repair menu open go to your task manager (To open the task manager go to your start menu and type in task manager and select task manager from the following list) on your computer and in the Details tab right click the LegacyX.exe and choose set affinity.  Here set the affinity for LegacyX.exe and Legacy.exe to different CPUs.  Make sure to only have one CPU for each item.  Here is what your screen should look like:

3.  Once both Legacy.exe and LegacyX.exe are assigned to two different CPU processors go back into Legacy and click proceed.  This should allow the check/repair to run much quicker and complete without error.

These steps will need to be done each time you run the check/repair as the processor affinity will not save on your computer after the check/repair completes.

This speed-up trick with the Legacy.exe process works on all kinds of things in Legacy.  Anyone with a huge file can benefit from this.  Reports, tagging, searching, set living, etc.  Anything that could take a while to run.   Legacy.exe affinity only needs to be set once when it is first opened.

LegacyX.exe loads when any of the functions it performs is called and then LegacyX.exe closes after the function is finished.  So, each time LegacyX.exe is going to be loaded it would need to have its affinity set once again before proceeding on that function.

Here is a list of things that LegacyX.exe performs.
