Network Error 3 and/or HTTP Error 404: File not found

Exit Legacy and download the full setup of Legacy from our web site. If your paid for Legacy Family Tree Deluxe Edition, please download the Standard Edition (free) which has the deluxe features locked inside it. Run/open the file to install.

LEGACY 7.5 OR EARLIER: http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00899 and download the final release (build) of your version. You may also wish to read "How to Install Legacy 7.5 or earlier on a Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista computer" at http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00897.
Reboot your computer and try your Legacy program again.
If you still experience problems, please reset your firewall permissions to allow Legacy downloads and delete your web browser's temporary internet files. Follow your web browser instructions for deleting internet caches (temporary files) and your system firewall instructions for setting permissions. See 'Could not communicate to the network server' or 'Could not retrieve update information from the Internet' below for details.
If you get a message that says, 'Could not communicate to the network server' or 'Could not retrieve update information from the internet' do the following:
- Temporarily disable your anti-virus program.
- In your firewall software give Legacy (Legacy.exe) permission. Please check your firewall's Help system for the steps.
- If you are trying to update Legacy from within the program, you must first be connected to the Internet (dialup users).
- If you are trying to update Legacy from within the program, you may need to configure Legacy for your preferred Web browser.
- In Legacy, click on Options > Customize > Launch tab and set the patch to your Web browser.
