We are uncertain as to the causes of "3035: System resource exceeded". Please try the following solution:

1. Please click on Start and select Programs (or All Programs depending on your version of Windows). From the programs menu, point at the Legacy folder icon (not the blue circle with the white L icon). The folder icon will have a right arrow associated with it showing that there is a sub-menu. From the sub-menu, click on Uninstall Legacy and follow the prompts for a complete uninstall.

2. With Windows Explorer or My Computer find and look in the Legacy folder.

LEGACY:

32-bit WINDOWS COMPUTERS - C:\Program Files\Legacy

64-bit WINDOWS COMPUTERS - C:\Program Files (x86)\Legacy

LEGACY 7.5 OR EARLIER: C:\Legacy

Within this folder you will find several files remaining that you will need to delete. Carefully delete all of the files in the Legacy folder but do not delete any of the folders like the Data folder, Picture Folder or Web Folder as these folders hold your data and you don't want to accidentally delete your family file or pictures. All the other files should be deleted.

3. Re-install Legacy Family Tree:

LEGACY: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/DownloadUpdate.asp

LEGACY 7.5 OR EARLIER: http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00899 and download the final release (build) of your version. Some users have reported the below fixes to work when you run into error 3035 while running the check/repair tool in Legacy:

1.  In the properties window for your C-Drive uncheck the option "allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties".  To access the properties screen of the C-Drive open a Windows browse window and on the left side you should see Computer, My Computer or This PC.  Please click on this option.  On the right you should see a list of your drives.  One of these should be Windows (C:).  Right click the Windows (C:) option and choose properties. If prompted about downstream files, click the option Yes to propagate to all the downstream folders and files.

2.  With Legacy closed browse on your computer to C-Drive>Program Files(X86)>Legacy and in the Legacy folder right click the Legacy application and choose properties.  In the properties menu in the compatibility tab set the application to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service pack 2.

3.  If the above solutions do not work another solution is to change your CPU affinity for Legacy and LegacyX.exe to different processors in your CPU.  To do this first open Legacy and start the check/repair tool but do not run it.  You want to be on the second screen that says check/repair Family File and has a proceed button at the bottom.  Once this is done open the task manager on your computer.  To open the task manager hit ctrl+alt+delete on your keyboard and select the task manager from the following menu.  In the task manager at the top select the details tab.  In details tab sort by name by clicking the name column at the top and scroll down until you see Legacy.exe and LegacyX.exe.  Right click each one of these and choose set affinity.  In the following processor affinity menu uncheck all processors but one.  Set Legacy.exe to one processor and LegacyX.exe to a different processor so that each are only using one processor but not the same processor.  Once this is done run the check/repair tool.

If the above steps do not fix the problem, try the steps in the guide If Legacy is really slow try this.
