Reinstall Legacy v7 Deluxe

You can download the final revision of Legacy Family Tree 7.5 (Version 7.5.0.278 - Build Date 12 November 2013), free from the following link: 

If prompted, the installation password is all one word (no space) with only lower case letters:  legacy7

Use your version 7 customer number to unlock the deluxe features. Your customer number is in the format of  7x-xxx-xxx-xx

Sometimes people have problems trying to download the program because their Internet security software (firewall, antivirus program, popup blocker, anti-spyware program, etc.) is blocking it. To get around this, please temporarily disable your Internet security software during installation. Also the makers of many of these applications have instructions for adding programs like Legacy to an "allowed" or “trusted” or “Exception” list.

We recommend that you use either Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge to download. It is fastest to install Legacy from the Web. Please only click on RUN or OPEN when downloading the setup file.

If you have a dial up connection, the download can take several hours. Usually your Internet Service Provider will cut off your connection before the download is complete, which corrupts the Legacy program. Our advice is use a computer at a friend's home or at a work place to download and save the Legacy7Setup file to a memory stick or CD; then use this to install from.

Depending on your configuration you will have to do one of the following:

When you start Legacy for the first time after installing, you will be prompted during the Legacy Guided Startup Wizard to enter your name and customer number.  After doing so and clicking Next Step, the Deluxe Edition is unlocked.

If Legacy skips the Guided Setup Wizard when you start the program, follow these steps: 

1. From the Help pull down menu, choose UNLOCK LEGACY DELUXE.

2. Enter your name and your customer number.

3. Click the Continue button.  The Deluxe Edition is now unlocked.

4. If you don’t see UNLOCK LEGACY DELUXE on the pull down menu, then click on GENERAL INFORMATION. This screen will show that Deluxe Edition is already installed and will display your name and customer number. Nothing more needs to be done.
