1. Click on the Options button (has a pencil, ruler and triangle) in the upper right of the Legacy Home tab and select Options... > Allow Legacy to connect to the Internet to retrieve Legacy News items and to check for updates.
3. Make sure that you are connected to the internet.
4. Add Legacy.exe as an "exception" to your antivirus software and firewall. To learn how, go to the internet homepage of your antivirus program and firewall and search their help file or knowledge base for the instructions.
5. Make sure that Internet Explorer is installed (and up to date) on your computer even if you use a different browser to access the internet. Internet Explorer is automatically installed as part of Windows so it should be there. Legacy uses Internet Explorer as its internal browser.
6. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options. Next select the Advanced tab and click the Reset button.
7. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to Security. Check mark the box that says Allow active content to run in files on My Computer. You will have to restart your computer for this to take effect.
8. If all
else fails, uninstall and then reinstall Internet Explorer. How you do
this depends on which version of Windows you are running and which
version of Internet Explorer you are using. You can search for the
instructions you need in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
