Text Does Not Fit in Screens and Grids

Text, screen and icon fit in Legacy screens is dependent on Legacy, monitor settings and screen drivers.  The first thing to try is resizing the window or grid to see if the text is now legible. If that does not work, do the following -

• Make sure that your Video driver is up-to-date. Since hardware manufacturers update their drivers from time to time, the problem is often resolved by visiting the manufacturer's website, then downloading and installing the updated drivers.

• Make sure your monitor is set for the recommended resolution. Next:

Windows 8 and Windows 7

  1. Right click on the desktop, select Personalize
  2. In the lower left corner of the Personalization window, select Display
  3. In the Display window, make sure one of the font options is set to Small - 100% (default); Medium - 125%: or Larger - 150%. You may need to experiment to see which one is best.
  4. Next:

Windows Vista

  1. Right click on the desktop, select Personalize
  2. In the upper left of the Personalization window, click on Adjust font size (DPI)
  3. In the DPI Scaling window, make sure that either Default scale (96 DPI) or Larger Scale (120 DPI) is selected

Windows XP

  1. Right click on your Computer Desktop and select Properties from the popup menu. The Display Properties screen will open. Click on the Settings tab and click the Advanced button.
  2. At the next screen (General) change the font size from small to large, click the OK button and restart your computer.
  3. Open Legacy and check the screen fonts, if they are correct exit the program.
  4. Repeat steps 1. through 3. but this time change the font size back to small and restart your computer.
  5. Open Legacy and check the screen fonts again, if they are correct you are finished.
  6. If the screen fonts revert to an illegible state, repeat steps 1. through 3. and permanently set your font size to large and restart your computer.
  7. Try a different monitor resolution.
